English poet and author (1770-1850) of 'Lyrical Ballads,' a collection inspired by the beauty of the English Lake District. Handwritten verse on a light blue 4.25 x 5 sheet, signed at the conclusion, "W. Wordsworth, Rydal Mount, 15th March 1844." Wordsworth pens the last two lines from Simon Lee, The Old Huntsman, in full: "I've heard of hearts unkind, kind deeds / With coldness still returning; / Alas! the gratitude of men / Hath often left me mourning." In fine condition. Any poetical autograph by the esteemed English writer is very rare.
