Description

Worden's test pilot ephemera—highlighted by his Yeager-signed diploma from USAF Aerospace Research Pilot School and a gold Society of Experimental Test Pilots pin

Four items from Worden's career as a test pilot: his gold Society of Experimental Test Pilots pin, featuring the organization's gold "X" against a blue enamel background, marked "LGB 10K" on the back; the USAF Aerospace Research Pilot School diploma issued to "Capt. Alfred M. Worden" on September 3, 1965, signed in black ink by Commandant Col. Chuck Yeager and Commander Maj. Gen. Irving L. Branch; his embroidered USAF Aerospace Research Pilot School patch; and a metallic foil print of the Empire Test Pilots' School insignia with motto "Learn to Test, Test to Learn." The diploma and insignia are both framed. In overall fine condition.

From the collection of Apollo 15 CMP Al Worden, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from his daughter Alison (Worden) Penczak.
