A large and highly displayable 42″ x 30″ diagram poster of the Apollo Command Module main control panel, deriving from the personal collection of Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden. In fine, folded condition, with a small tear to the left side. An attractive poster with subject matter that Worden was well acquainted with. As the CM for the Apollo 15 mission, Worden spent three days alone in the capsule, in the process becoming the individual who traveled the farthest from any other human being, a record he still holds. During Apollo 15's return flight to Earth, Worden performed a spacewalk to retrieve film cassettes from cameras on the exterior of the spacecraft. The EVA was the first in ‘deep space’ history, and, as of 2021, it remains the one that has taken place farthest from Earth.
From the collection of Apollo 15 CMP Al Worden, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from his daughter Alison (Worden) Penczak.
