Official Camp David jacket presented to NASA astronaut Al Worden following the historic flight of Apollo 15. The zippered jacket, size large, made of water repellant dacron polyester and cotton, features two set-in front pockets, buttons to cuffs, and the right chest bears an embroidered presidential seal patch below a “Camp David” banner patch. The inner collar retains its original Mr. Wrangler label. In fine condition, with some wear and tear to inner lining of sleeves. Upon the invitation of President Richard Nixon, the astronauts of Apollo 13, Apollo 14, Apollo 15, and Apollo 16 all relaxed with their families at Camp David after their respective flights. The Worden family’s weekend at Camp David consisted of dining with mayors and celebrities, and exchanging messages with Pope Paul VI.
From the collection of Apollo 15 CMP Al Worden, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from his daughter Alison (Worden) Penczak.
