Description

Terrific pair of dark rubber glove castings of the hands of Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden, examples that were used by ILC as molds to produce the rubber neoprene glove for his A7L spacesuit. The left hand measures 5.5″ across and 6″ in height, and the right hand measures 5″ across and 5.75″ in height. Both front wrists bear matching raised numbers (backwards as produced), “0251,” and the flat bases to both hands feature mounting plates and nearly identical part numbers: “NAS 9-6100, T-1594-01” and “02.” In overall fine condition, with some trivial holes and wear to rubber and some deterioration to one mounting plate.

From the collection of Apollo 15 CMP Al Worden, and accompanied by a letter of provenance from his daughter Alison (Worden) Penczak.
