Engineer and inventor (1827-1915) who promoted worldwide standard time zones, designed Canada's first postage stamp, and engineered much of the Intercolonial Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway. Bold ink signature, "Sandford Fleming,” on an off-white 8.5 x 5.75 slip clipped from a deed dated April 1876, countersigned by his wife, "Annie Jean Fleming." In very good to fine condition, with a piece of clear tape passing over the top of the signature.
