Versatile American industrialist, inventor, and politician (1791-1883) who designed the first steam locomotive built in the United States (the 'Tom Thumb'), and patented a gelatin dessert later marketed under the brand name Jell-O. LS, one page on a 5 x 3 postcard, March 12, 1883. Letter to the editor of the Bradford County Journal, in full: "I send you herewith 'Ideas for a Science of good Government'; please send the Paper, that may contain your review of the book, to the address, given after the Preface." In very good to fine condition, with several vertical creases, and a trivial brush to the signature.
