Correspondence between railroad magnates: Huntington requests a pass from Depew

Railroad industrialist (1821-1900) known as one of the 'Big Four' of western railroading. LS signed “C. P. Huntington, V.P.,” one page, 8.25 x 5.75, Southern Pacific Company letterhead, March 8, 1887. Letter to Chauncey Depew, president of the New York Central Railroad, in full: "Will you oblige me by issuing a pass for Clark Weed, Esq., from Albany to Chicago, via Lake Shore, and sending same to me?" In very good condition, with light creasing and soiling, and old tape on the back, including a repaired tear through the signature.
