World War II-era variable-density goggles as used by gunners in the bomber planes to follow tracer bullets at night, or targets across the face of the sun; the red lens filters protected their eyes from bright flashes. The goggles are housed in their tin case with instruction pamphlet in the lid, identifying them as "Stock No. 74-G-79-40." Also includes two additional sets of red visor filters in their original envelopes, marked "Stock No: 74-V-3500." In fine condition.
