Description

French writer and poet (1896-1966) best known as the founder of Surrealism. ALS in French, one page both sides, 5.25 x 8.25, December 21, 1933. Handwritten letter by Andre Breton, addressed to writer Rene Laporte, where he tries to mediate a conflict between Laporte and the poet Gui Rosey. In part (translated): "[For all] that may be paradoxical and distressing in the idea of a poet exercising retaliation over another poet.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Breton's hand.
