ALS signed “Julia W. Howe,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 7.5, blindstamped monogram letterhead, August 29. Handwritten letter to a general, in part: "I have provided Col. Higginson (T. Wentworth) that you should, or rather would bring him out to dine with us tomorrow. In this view, I desired him to present himself…He is rather tall, erect & springy…with good chestnut hair." In very good to fine condition, with splitting to the bottom of the hinge, and an old tape stain to the left edge of the second page.
