Partly-printed DS, signed “Victoria R,” one page, 16 x 12, December 15, 1897. Queen Victoria appoints Lawrence George Hart "to be an Officer in Our Militia Forces…in the Rank of 2nd Lieutenant." Signed at the head by Queen Victoria and countersigned by Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, 5th Marquess of Lansdowne as Secretary of State for War. The blue seal affixed to the upper left remains intact. In fine condition, with intersecting folds.
