In full: "Knowing that youngsters, such as yourself, enjoy celebrating special occasion[s], I am delighted to send you birthday greetings. Your visits to The Farm are far too infrequent and I hope you will resolve to change that situation during your 68th year." Eisenhower signs with "D" after a brief postscript: "Have a good time at the party you and Sinny cooked up!"
Also included are four FDCs with cachets commemorating President Eisenhower, with one of the covers signed by the 12 honorary pallbearers from Eisenhower's funeral—Omar Bradley, Lauris Norstad, Edgar Eisenhower, Milton Eisenhower, J. Lawton Collins, Wade H. Haislip, Alfred M. Gruenther, John Moaney, Gordon Moore, Leonard Heaton, George W. Anderson, and Lewis Strauss; another signed by seven of the pallbearers—Arthur Radford, Bradley, Norstad, Collins, Gruenther, and Milton and Edgar Eisenhower; another signed by Milton and Edgar Eisenhower, and by his son, John S. D. Eisenhower, and grandson, David Eisenhower; and the last signed by Montgomery of Alamein and Georgy Zhukov. In overall fine condition, with some staining to the top of the letter.
