Uncommon 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite portrait of Abraham Lincoln reading with his son Tad, after a photograph taken by Anthony Berger. The image is surrounded by embossed patriotic designs, and the photo itself is mounted to a slightly larger wooden plaque. Mounted and framed to an overall size of 12 x 14. In fine condition. Originally taken on February 9, 1864, by Berger in Mathew Brady's Washington D.C. studio, this is one of the most enduring and poignant portraits of President Lincoln ever captured.
