Partly-printed DS, three pages, 7.5 x 9.75, September 5, 1828. An invoice from the Peter & George Lorillard tobacco company, which reads: "Shipped in good order and well-conditioned, by Peter & George Lorillard, on board the good Sch'r called the Mohican whereof is Master for this present voyage, T. Sparrow, now lying in the port of New-York, and bound for Boston. To say: Two Barrels, two half Barrels & Fifty Jars Snuff & Tobacco, being marked and numbered as in the margin, and are to be delivered in the like good order and well-conditioned, at the aforesaid port of Boston (the dangers of the seas only excepted) unto S. Pierce & Co. or to their assigns, they paying freight for the said 2 Brls & 2 half Brls & 50 jars." Signed below by Thomas Sparrow above a handwritten item list totaling to $176.35. This invoice was mailed to "Messrs. Silas Pierce & Co." of Boston, with the reverse side of integral page bearing a Lorillard pricing and information guide for "Snuff and Fine Cut Tobacco." In very good condition, with toning, some staining, and an area of paper loss, partially repaired with old tape.
