Combat medic with the 77th Infantry Division in World War II, who famously saved 75 men during the Battle of Okinawa (1919-2006). His heroic actions not only earned him the unique distinction of becoming the first and only conscientious objector to receive the Medal of Honor during World War II, but his story was later vividly retold in the Oscar-winning 2016 film Hacksaw Ridge. FDC with a cachet honoring the Statue of Liberty, signed in blue ballpoint, "I was part of the State of Liberty. Div. WWII 77th Inf. Div, Desmond T. Doss, C.M.H." Also addressed in Doss's hand.
