Description

Politician and financial genius (1761-1849) responsible for the formation of what is now known as the Ways and Means Committee. DS, one page, 7.75 x 9.75, December 17, 1810. Treasury Department circular concerning the valuation of the Russian Ruble, in part: "The valuation of the Ruble at 33 cents and 1/3 of a cent, established by the President's proclamation of the 31st day of August last, was deduced from information of a date prior to this year, and is inapplicable to cargoes imported in vessels which left Russia during the course of the year 1810." In very good to fine condition, with light staining, and some paper loss along the hinge.
