Vintage ballpoint signatures of Paul McCartney and Jane Asher on an off-white 7.5 x 8 sheet containing unrelated typed poems, which when folded, measures 3.75 x 2. The consignor notes that the autographs were obtained in Campbeltown, Scotland in 1967. In 1966, McCartney purchased High Park Farm in Kintyre, Scotland, which is near Campbeltown. In very good condition, with overall creasing, and a stain to the lower right corner.
Accompanied by a vintage glossy 6 x 8.25 photo of McCartney and Asher, a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, and a letter of provenance from the previous owner, which reads, in part: “My family all live in Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland…Paul McCartney has owned a farm there for many years and still does. It was to High Park Farm that he brought Jane Asher (his girlfriend at the time) for a holiday in 1967. They were both walking through the town and popping into local shops when an aunt of my dad’s stopped them and asked for their autographs. They had just come out of the local delicatessen when she approached them. She searched in her handbag for a piece of paper and they obliged by signing it. As you can see, the piece of paper has words to a couple of poems.”
