American composer of avant-garde music (born 1929) who is noted for his unusual timbres, alternative forms of notation, and extended instrumental and vocal techniques. Six items signed by composer George Crumb, including: a pair of AMQSs, dated September 6th and October 17th, 1990, both featuring bars of music from “Echoes of Time and the River”; a glossy 7.25 x 5 photo of Crumb, who adds an inscription; two brief ALSs apologizing for not having a “suitable photograph to send you”; and a hand-addressed mailing envelope postmarked September 7, 1990, with Crumb incorporating his signature, “Dr. Robert Crumb,” into the return address field.
