Description

Apollo 17 pre-launch cover with a stamped cachet of the mission insignia, postmarked at Kennedy Space Center on December 6, 1972, neatly signed in felt tip by Gene Cernan, Harrison Schmitt, and Ron Evans. A collector's notation penciled on the reverse indicates that it was sent to the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston in August 1971, and returned autographed one month later. In fine condition. Apollo 17 was scheduled to launch late on the night of December 6th, but a minor technical issue delayed liftoff by two hours and forty minutes; it launched at 12:33 AM on December 7th.
