Very desirable maroon necktie by Hollyvogue of California, personally-owned and -worn by Paul McCartney in the 1970s and 1980s. Included with the necktie is a handwritten letter of provenance from Jo Jo Laine, the wife of Wings musician Denny Laine, who writes: “This is to certify that the maroon satin tie with white writing print on it was Paul McCartney’s and was bought when Denny & he were recording the Buddy Holly album. I personally saw him wear it on more than one occasion.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a photo of Jo Jo holding the necktie. The referenced “Buddy Holly album” is Holly Days, the second solo album from Denny Laine, which featured 11 cover versions of songs by Holly; released in 1977, the album was produced by McCartney, who also played most of the instruments on the album, although Linda McCartney played keyboards and sang harmonies.
