Letter to Mary Adeline Thiers, in full: "This is just a note to tell you how much I appreciated your very thoughtful card with regard to the reports on my case of shingles. I can now sympathize with those who have undergone this painful affliction. However, my doctor tells me the worst is over and I expect to be back to par in three or four weeks." Nixon adds a postscript: "As you can imagine, I have learned that a number of public figures have been inflicted by shingles, including former Presidents Hoover and Eisenhower." In very good to fine condition, with areas of light toning, and three file holes to the left edge.
