(Walt Disney Studios, 1963) Magnificent original preproduction cel and preliminary background set-up featuring Wart, or Arthur, from The Sword in the Stone, which depicts the 12-year-old orphan and future king standing in a darkened forest corridor of large boulders and twisted roots. The two cels (Wart and forest outlines) are placed on a matching and brilliantly realized hand-painted preliminary background from the same film. The Wart image measures 1.5 x 3, with overall dimensions of 16 x 12.5. The cels and background are all marked as "2138-930." In fine condition, with some adhesive remnants to edges. An immersive, expertly realized preliminary cel and scene from an underrated Disney classic.
