Magnificent collection of original abstract artwork by Miles Davis, accomplished in multicolored felt tip, ballpoint, and pencil on 22 individual off-white sheets ranging in size from 8 x 11.75 to 11 x 14. Includes nine single-sided drawings signed "Miles!"; six double-sided drawings signed "Miles" on one side; one unsigned single-sided drawing; and six unsigned double-sided drawings. The sketches are a mixture of faces and figures executed with bold lines and bright colors, completely abstract bursts of color, cubes and geometric shapes, and simple line drawings. They offer a fascinating look into the mind of a creative genius, all done in Davis's trademark style that drew inspiration from Kandinsky, Basquiat, Picasso, and tribal art.
