Description

(Walt Disney Studios, 1953) Original production cel and custom background set-up featuring Amos from Ben and Me, showing the little mouse dressed in his colonial attire on a cobblestone street in Philadelphia. The cel is placed on a custom hand-painted background. Character image measures 3 x 3.5, with a mat opening of 9.75 x 7.75. Framed with an engraved plaque to an overall size of 21.5 x 20. In fine condition.

In the memorable short, Amos the mouse aids founding father Benjamin Franklin in his publishing, inventing, and political career—contributing to the invention of bifocals, the Franklin stove, his famed kite experiment, the printing of the Pennsylvania Gazette, and the drafting of the Declaration of Independence. It received an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Subject (Two-Reel). Sterling Holloway voiced Amos Mouse, while Charlie Ruggles did Ben Franklin.
