Description

DS, one page, 5.5 x 8, July 7, 1967. Receipt for clothing from Allsopp, Brindle & Boyle Ltd. for "one pinstripe suit," "one pair of trousers," and "2 pairs of trousers," signed in the lower left in ballpoint by George Harrison. A note from the proprietor on the reverse is addressed to Harrison's wife, the model Pattie Boyd, instructing her to bring in anything needing alterations. In fine condition. Harrison and Boyd had gotten married the previous year and it was her interest in Eastern mysticism that inspired the Beatles to meet the Maharishi in London in August 1967, just a month after Harrison signed this receipt.
