Three of Judge Sarah T. Hughes's Texas license plates, each reading: "Texas, USA-21, U.S. Judge." One is lettered in red, and two are in black. A caption affixed to one reads: "This plate was registered to U.S. District Judge Sarah T. Hughes. She was a Baltimore resident until 1922 when she moved to Dallas, Tx. She administered the oath of office to Lyndon Johnson in Air Force One shortly after the Kennedy assassination. The '21' in 'USA 21' is her U.S. District number." An envelope on the back contains an obituary and photocopied news clipping about her leaving her post. In fine condition.
