DS, signed “Jack Ruby,” five pages, 8.5 x 14, March 18, 1952. Contract by which Ruby becomes the manager of Ben Estes Nelson, a child who "has become well known in the Dallas Area under the name of 'Little Daddy,' as a singer and performer, and probably can earn large sums of money if properly managed and promoted." Signed at the conclusion by Jack Ruby and by Nelson's guardian, Columbus L. Nelson. In fine condition. Accompanied by a glossy 8 x 10 photo of Ruby posing with Nelson.
In 1952, Ruby managed a talented young African-American boy, 'Little Daddy' Nelson. The boy appeared at the Silver Spur, the Vegas Club, and the Bob Wills Ranch House. In about 1953 or 1954, Ruby took 'Little Daddy' and his parents to Chicago to obtain a television appearance for him. However, shortly after their arrival, Ruby was confronted by a second woman claiming to be "Little Daddy's" mother. Upon advice of counsel, Ruby decided to abandon the venture.
