Description

Mexican Border War-dated partly-printed DS from Columbus, New Mexico, signed “Wm. C. Hayes,” one page, 8.5 x 11, July 31, 1916. An Honorable Discharge from the United States Service, which states that Albert L. Woodworth of Brockton, Massachusetts, "a Captain of Infantry of the Second Regiment of Mass. Nat'l Guard, as Testimonial of Honest and Faithful Service, is hereby Honorably Discharged from the United States Service by reason of telegraph instructions War Department (three Southern Department, dated July 29, 1916)." Signed and approved at the conclusion by William C. Hayes, Colonel of the 2nd Mass. Infantry, at Columbus, New Mexico. In very good to fine condition, with three horizontal folds to the document. Accompanied by a first edition booklet of 'Mexican Border Ball'ads,' which was "written on the border by F. B. Camp," published in 1916 in Douglas, Arizona.
