French landscape and portrait painter (1796-1875) identified with the Barbizon School. ALS in French, signed “C. Corot,” one page, 5 x 8, May 7, 1861. Letter to Mr. Sentier, in part (translated): "Yesterday evening I found your note. Several times I had intended to send you your study, but always thought, before the note, you might come up to the atelier and pick it up. It looks so nice next to the poet. Your name was put behind it….Mrs. Faider will be kind enough to give the key to Mr. Sentier, bearer of this letter. I’ve gone to the country this morning." In very good to fine condition, with small tears and tape stains to the top edge. Accompanied by two prints depicting Corot.
