Sought-after official color glossy 10 x 8 red-numbered NASA photo (S-69-39996), which shows the first Apollo 11 sample return container, with lunar surface material inside, being unloaded at the Lunar Receiving Laboratory, Building 37, Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC). The rock box had arrived only minutes earlier at Ellington Air Force Base by air from the Pacific recovery area. The lunar samples were collected by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin during their historic lunar surface extravehicular activity. Reverse bears "A Kodak Paper" watermarks and purple NASA caption text. In fine condition, with some creasing in the right border. Encapsulated by PSA as an authentic 'Type I' photograph.
