Official White House card, neatly signed in ink as president, "Calvin Coolidge." In fine condition, with faint soiling. Accompanied by a transmittal letter from an assistant on White House letterhead, October 4, 1927, in part: "I am enclosing the President's autograph…There need be no doubt as to the genuineness of the signature, as no one ever signs the President's name but himself. Am mentioning this because a great many people in this country are under the impression that the President would not go to the trouble to autograph cards for people who ask for them and has some one else do it in his place. I don't think anyone could duplicate the 'Calvin Coolidge' on this card, do you?"
