American statesman (1752-1804) who served in the Continental Congress from 1786 to 1788 and in the United States Senate from 1795 to 1801, including a five-month stint as president pro tempore. Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “Wm. Bingham,” one page, 9.25 x 7.75, March 16, 1795. Certificate issued to Adam Reigant for one share of stock in the "Company of the Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike Road." Signed at the conclusion in ink by Bingham as the company's president. In fine condition.
