Description

Bush praises his boys: "I am out of politics but, needless to say, I am very proud of both the Governor of Florida and the Governor of Texas"

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, March 15, 1999. Letter to actor Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., in part: "It's been a long time since this Naval person has been in touch with you…I write simply to wish you well, hoping that this note finds you in the best of spirits. You are a good man, and I hope you know that in Barbara and me, you have two good friends right here in Texas who think about you often. I am out of politics but, needless to say, I am very proud of both the Governor of Florida and the Governor of Texas. The speculation about George seems to be totally out of control, but he is a truly good man, and I believe he will run for the Presidency." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
