Contemporary photocopy of the galley proof for Bob Dylan's 1966 collection of poetry entitled Tarantula, bound into a 9 x 11.5 binder, annotated on the front by Tony Glover: "Tarantula, Bob Dylan, March 1966 - 1st Proofs." Originally slated to be published by Macmillan in August 1966, the release of Tarantula was derailed by Dylan's motorcycle accident on July 29, 1966. Only a few of the original spiral-bound galley proofs were produced, but 'bookleggers' soon obtained one and created pirated copies which were sold until it was officially released in 1971. Given Glover's close friendship with Dylan, it is unclear whether this is an 'authorized' version—perhaps given to him for feedback—or a bootlegged one. In fine condition.
