Description

Two typed letters signed by Rolling Stone critic Greil Marcus to Tony Glover about Dylan bootlegs, plus a 1/4-inch reel-to-reel tape marked "Dylan & Band - Albert Hall 1966 / Band Singles," with track listing on the reverse. One letter, in part: "I've finally gotten my tape recorder fixed and I'll be sending you some stuff in the next few days. I've recently been given some more outtakes of the Highway 61 and Blonde on Blonde sessions—the tapes I have of these are of poor quality since the cat taped them off a transistor ratio…There have been two more Dylan bootleg lps recently, one called Stealin', with some Bringing It All Back Home outtakes that are nice, one Highway 61 outtake, and some cuts you recorded in Minnesota." The other, in part: "I will be sending you all of the tapes I have that relate to 1964 on—this includes several outtakes from Bringing It All Back Home that you may already have…There is also a Highway 61 Revisited outtake of 'It Takes a Lot to Laugh' that is terrific that I'll be sending you along. Sometime this week I should get a hold of an excellent dub of what are either Blonde on Blonde outtakes or outtakes from the sessions Bob did with the Band in 1965. This is a very weird tape." Also includes the private pressing two-CD set compiled by Greil Marcus entitled "Like a Rolling Stone: Bob Dylan at the Crossroads," produced in 2005. In overall fine condition. Notably, Glover would go on to write the liner notes for The Bootleg Series Vol. 4: Bob Dylan Live 1966, The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert, released in 1998.
