Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Rhode Island (1727-1820). Third-person ADS, signed within the text, "William Ellery,” on an off-white 3.75 x 2.25 slip. In part: "Received, (Newport Sep'r 23d 1766), of William Ellery twenty seven pounds old Tenor in full for pasturing his Cow." Signed at the conclusion by the recipient, "John Anthony." In fine condition, with some light staining. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "NM-MT 8."
