Russian-American inventor, engineer, and pioneer of television technology (1888-1982) who invented a television transmitting and receiving system and played a role in the practical development of television from the early thirties. Three items: a TLS signed "V. K. Zworykin," one page, 8.5 x 11, RCA letterhead, April 30, 1974, in part: "I have no recent photographs available that you could add to your collection, and hope my signature on this letter will be sufficient"; a glossy 8 x 10 photo of Zworykin in later age, signed in blue ballpoint, "V. K. Zworykin, Apr. 29/75"; and a booklet honoring the 80th birthday of Zworykin, 12 pages, 8 x 9.5, signed inside over his image in blue ballpoint, "V. K. Zworykin, May 1/75." In overall fine condition, with the signatures to the photo and booklet difficult to read against the dark backgrounds. Accompanied by the original transmittal letter from Zworykin's office.
