TLS signed “Yours sincerely, Anthony Eden,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, Foreign Office letterhead, January 16, 1936. Letter to Irene Ward, in full: "Thank you so much for your letter. I am most grateful for your congratulations and good wishes, and I do most sincerely appreciate the thought that prompted you to write. I do remember a Wilcox quite well, who was bandmaster in my regiment. I will try to find out whether there are any funds available. I fear it is rather doubtful." Eden adds the salutation in his own hand. In very good to fine condition, with light show-through from old mounting and clipping residue on the back.
