Description

Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R.,” one page, 13.5 x 9.25, February 1, 1797. King George appoints William Porter to be "Lieutenant in…Our Seventy Sixth Regiment of Foot—commanded by Our Trusty and Wellbeloved Lieutenant General Thomas Musgrave." Signed in the upper left corner by King George III, and countersigned in the lower right by Home Secretary Henry Dundas. Left side retains the original white and blue paper seals. In fine condition.
