Description

American molecular biologist, geneticist and zoologist (born 1928) who co-discovered the structure of DNA in 1953 with Francis Crick; their discovery earned them the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory of Quantitative Biology letterhead, April 22, 1970. Letter to Harvey Granat, in full: "I'm most flattered that you would want me to help honor Rabi. But I really don't have the time, since later that week I must fly off to Houston for the International Cancer Conference. I trust you will find someone suitable." In fine condition, with some bends to right side and slight show-through from writing to reverse of upper left corner. Dr. Isidor Rabi was also a Nobel Prize winner, receiving the award in 1944 for his work using nuclear magnetic resonance.
