Description

Two items signed by the FBI men who famously did not get along: a TLS from Hoover to Purvis, signed "Edgar," one page, FBI letterhead, April 17, 1941, in part: "I have not heard of any additional developments in the situation in which you are interested. I hesitate to offer a suggestion as to whether you should come to Washington or not…if you feel that any of the contacts which you have at Washington and who have previously expressed interest in the matter in your behalf would help to focus further attention upon you, then of course I would see no harm in your making the trip here," matted with a portrait of Hoover to an overall size of 19.5 x 12.5; and a bank check filled out and signed by Purvis, "Melvin H. Purvis," payable to cash for $583.65, August 5, 1939. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA for the check, and a certificate of authenticity from JSA for the letter.
