Three gift items from the Carter administration, all in their original boxes: a pair of gold-tone cufflinks featuring the presidential seal on the front, with Carter's facsimile signature on the reverse; a gold-tone lapel pin of the same design; and an identical lapel pin still sealed in its gold foil White House wrapping, with golden seal applied on top. In fine condition. The consignor notes that these originate from the estate of Rex Scouten, who served as White House Chief Usher from 1969 to 1986, serving under presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, and Reagan; he then became White House Curator from 1986 to 1997, under Reagan, Bush, and Clinton.
