Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R.,” one page, 13.75 x 9.25, January 13, 1795. King George appoints "Our Trusty and Welbeloved William Porter…to be Lieutenant…in our Hundred & Fourteenth Regiment of Foot." Signed in the upper left corner by King George III, and countersigned by William Cavendish-Bentinck, 3rd Duke of Portland, who would later serve as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Left side retains the original white and blue paper seals. In fine condition, with light overall soiling.
