Description

Brewing magnate (1899-1989) who built the Anheuser-Busch Companies into the largest brewery in the world; Busch was also the owner of the St. Louis Cardinals franchise from 1953 until his death. TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, St. Louis National Baseball Club letterhead, April 16, 1954, addressed to Bob Gullo: "Thanks for your nice letter. I enjoyed reading it and appreciate your writing me. I'm sorry I can't send you an autographed ball but, because you are such a loyal Cardinal fan, I am sending you a souvenir certificate in the Honorary Bat Boys Association. My thanks again for your interest in the Cardinals, and I hope you enjoy many Cardinal games in 1954." Busch adds a postscript: "I have asked our publicity department to send you a Cardinal sketch book which you should receive in the next few days." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope and a color "Certificate of Membership in the Association of Honorary Batboys" from the St. Louis Cardinals, issued to Bob Gullo, with the bottom bearing Busch's preprinted signature.
