Original linen-backed French patent lithograph for Alfred Nobel's improvement of the hand grenade, one page, 12 x 10.5, circa 1912. The purpose of the improvement is to increase the distance a hand grenade can be thrown through the adoption of an aerodynamic disc shape. The diagram is headed "No. 436.853, Societe dite: Dynamit-Agtien-Gesellschaft vormals Alfred Nobel & Co., Pl. Unique." On the left side is an unrelated diagram for French patent "No. 436.852" granted to M. Bothmann for a railway amusement park ride. In fine condition.
