Civil War-dated ALS, one page, 4.75 x 7.25, January 30, 1863. Letter written from the Senate Chamber, in part: "Pray help me & draw up resolutions carefully embodying & stating the ideas expressed in your letter. I like them; but the best test…is to see it in legislative form. If you let me have them in this form I shall try to use them." In fine condition, with a small stain at the center.
