Description

DS, signed “Martin Sheen,” one page, 8.5 x 11, October 1. Agreement between Sheen and Coppola Cinema Seven, in part: "I hereby waive any and all rights which I may have to receive credit on the screen for my services rendered in connection with the film entitled 'Apocalypse Now'…I understand that it is your intention to provide credit on a printed program rather than on the screen in certain showings of the Film, and I hereby agree to waive my screen credit provided that credit is accorded to me under those circumstances." In fine condition. Sheen played a starring role as Captain Benjamin L. Willard, who travels up the Nung River on a mission to assassinate the rogue Special Forces soldier Colonel Walter E. Kurtz, played by Marlon Brando. Like most others, the production was not easy for Sheen—he suffered severe lacerations to his hand after punching a mirror while filming the opening scene in 1976, and in early 1977 he collapsed from a serious, near-fatal heart attack that required six weeks of recovery.
