Presented to a White House speechwriter

Signed book: State of New York Public Papers of Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1929. First edition. Albany, NY: J. B. Lyon Company, 1930. Hardcover, 6 x 9, 784 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "For my friend & fellow author Earle Looker, from another of the 'Gang,' Franklin D. Roosevelt." FDR's frontispiece portrait bears a facsimile signature. Autographic condition: fine, with dampstaining to lower corner of the signed page. Book condition: VG-/None, with dampstaining to lower right corner throughout the book, rubbing and staining to boards, and some fraying at spine ends. Looker worked as a speechwriter for President Roosevelt on a freelance basis between 1932 and 1940.
