Description

Signed booklet: Address of Brevet Major-General Rutherford B. Hayes at the Fifth Quadrennial Congress of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, Chicago Illinois, April 17, 1885. Bound in light blue paper wrappers, 6 x 9.5, three pages. Signed and inscribed on the front wrapper in ink to a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, "To Edward W. Bok, With all regard, R. B. Hayes." In very good to fine condition, with light toning and creasing. Bok was the influential editor of the Ladies' Home Journal for three decades, and won the 1921 Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography for his book The Americanization of Edward Bok: The Autobiography of a Dutch Boy Fifty Years Later; accompanied by a limited edition of the book published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1922, numbered 805/1250, signed on the colophon in ink by Bok.
